So...most of you must have received our Christmas picture...that took way too much of my time than I wanted it to. I thought I could save money by printing the addresses on the envelope instead of printing labels....well after I entered in ALL of the addresses (and there were a lot..I know way too many people :))and merged them to print...well...let's just say I went out and bought labels.
We have had a pretty good year....K...has turned 2 and seems to think that the world revolves around her. She does really well with E. K has said some funny stuff...some of which I can't remember. She wants to be such a big girl except for going on the potty...then she says " I'm a baby and I need to go in my diaper"...it will come soon we hope. K...so badly wants to go to school...everyone around her seems to be going to school...so her big incentive to go on the big girl potty is that she will be able to go to preschool. K is such a big helper to me when I am taking care of E...she loves to get stuff for me and help me change E's diaper...the other day...I was trying to get E to roll over but to no avail...I walked out of the room for about 5 seconds and I hear K saying..."mom, mom....I helped E roll over...I helped E roll over!" Sure enough, I walked back into the room and E was on her tummy..K proceeded to show me how she did it...I told her that was a big help but not to do it again without mom or dad around. :)
E...was born in July and has grown like a weed. She came a week and a half early...4 1/2 hours of labor and 3 pushes and she was out....E is such a joy to have around. She is loving her sister. It is great fun to watch them interact together. K...talks to her and E..giggles and smiles.
D...has had a pretty interesting year. After being done with coaching girls XC for the last 4 years...he decided to coach middle school track at the middle school he is teaching at. He also applied to coach boys varsity XC at a neighboring school district. He was hired and had started to coach them during the summer...running with them 2 times a week. K...just loves to watch the boys run...during their summer training we decided to go with D to the park while he had practice. There was a kids play area there and we thought K would love to play on the jungle gym there....well...she wanted to watch the boys run instead of playing...the loop that the boys were running was a mile around....K stood there by the path waiting for the boys to come...she just loves to run. D...may coach girls varsity XC at the same school he is coaching at now....so he would be the coach of boys and girls varsity...that is still in the works...D..did a lot of work around the house. The biggest thing he did was help my brother in law build a swing set/climbing wall/slide for K and E.
I have been keeping busy...I was watching a couple of kids at the beginning of the year and then when I had E they went to daycare. I was sad to see them go. I still go to play group, bible study, small group, and visit with other friends that have kids K and E's age in our neighborhood.
D's brother is still living in our basement/apartment at least until April when he finishes his degree. It will be a sad day when he moves out..K hopes that he will stay a little bit longer but we know he would love to be in an area where he can go hiking and just be outdoors.
Please keep checking out the blog...I keep adding to it over the weeks...some weeks more than others.
Have a blessed holiday.

An early Thanksgiving at my parents

K...at G'amma's in the dress up stuff.
We just got back from being at my parents house....K had lots of fun hanging out with G'amma and G'ampa. She did all kinds of things. She went to mom's preschool and church...we also took her to the Children's museum and to see "ittle G'ampa". (my dad's dad). She told me she liked teasing uncle R when we were at the restaurant. E...did really well and actually slept thru the night 4 nights in row and hasn't done that since...guess she liked being at Grandma and Grandpa's. It was nice to see my sister and her son. G slept a lot but K loved to be around G and would tell A when he was crying or when he "needed" something. She just loves babies.

Halloween!

Here are K as a butterfly and E as a giraffe! K had so much fun trick or treating. She would say trick or treat (although dad taught her...trick or treat, smell my feet..give me something good to eat.) and then say thank you....as we would walk away fromt he door she would say...let's go get more candy. She was running from house to house at the beginning and by the end...she was riding in the stroller. The candy is hidden away and hopefully she will forget.

Fun at the Pumpkin Farm
K...E...and I went to a pumpkin farm with a friend from play group and her two girls. K had lots of fun riding in the hay wagon...looking at BIG pumpkins, riding in a pumpkin ride and going through a straw maze. She loved looking at some goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens, smelly pigs and even a kitten. K wanted to pick out a pumpkin so I showed her where the small pumkins were and she picked one up and tried to bite it like an apple. She thought you could eat it...how silly. She loved the pumpkin donut and the apple cider...she really enjoyed being with her friend J.

Dancing girl
K...just loves the tv show dancing with the stars....she will say.."I can do it too...watch me". It is the cutest thing to see....She is so sad when we tell her the show is done...(well..over for her because it is her bedtime..she would love to watch the whole show but when it ends at 9:30 at night...she is a bear the next day.)
E...is growing like a weed. She is smiling and starting to talk..well make noises. It is fun to see her growing and developing new things.
D's XC season is coming to an end soon. He has regionals and then maybe one of his guys might make it to state finals....I think D will want to go anyway to watch other schools.

Life of a two year old!
A few days ago...it had snowed and K got up that morning saying that she was going to put on her boots, go outside and walk in the snow. When asked if she wanted to go and play outside...she said, " no mom.....I will get wet." but she had to tell the snow good night when it was time to go to bed. She had already gotten in bed and then I heard her little feet run back out to our living room and she said goodnight snow and blew it a kiss. I hope once the snow comes and stays that K will want to build a snowman with me.

Time Flies
It seems like just yesterday that I wrote. I have been a little bit busy. let's see....on Monday I had my play group over....It was 6 moms and 11 kids....needless to say...it was a little bit loud with the kids but then they wanted to go outside and jump on the trampoline. Monday night I had my women's small group...Tuesday didn't do too much but E was a little fussy. Tuesday night we had D's boys XC team as well as the girls XC team over for spaghetti dinner. We were planning on 30-35 kids coming...so I cooked 9 lbs of pasta! Only 12 kids ended up coming so we have lots of left over spaghetti. K was so excited that the boys were coming over. She was sure that they were going to have a race in the house. She even showed me where they were going to race. She ran around the table into the living room several times....when she was done....she took some deep breaths (as if she was out of breathe) and said...."I think they can do that." She was convinced that they were coming over to see her since she couldn't go and see them because it was a little cool outside. She is definitely has her own ideas.
Today....I went to my bible study at church and then went to a girlfriends house to hang out a little. It was fun to talk with her and have K play with her son.

What a great day!
I have had a great day with my kids. I decided that I know a lot of women that are stay at home moms or work part time that have kids that like to play together. I like to go and visit with them and so I decided that I wanted to have a play date so that I can visit with several at a time and then have our kids play together. Well today....I decided it would be time for that. I had 4 other women over and 7 other kids over. It was a fun time with food, fellowship and playtime. K just loves other kids. She wants to have them over all the time. :) There were four of us that had a second child this year! It was fun. K just loved being the only girl besides E at the house. She was surrounded by handsome boys!
D is doing well...the XC boys seem to be running ok. It's hard to believe that the regular season is almost over. Teaching seems to be going well also.
E is still growing like a weed. She is now 10 lbs. 2 1/2 oz. She had her 2 month check up and seems to be right on target. She is smiling and blwoing bubbles...it is amazing how quickly she is growing!

Life is Good
It seems like time flies by. It is hard to believe that E is 2 months old. K is still trying to pick her up on her own. K thinks that E is her toy to play with. Although we are trying to teach her that she can't touch E all the time. We tell her to not touch a happy baby in hopes that she'll leave her sister alone a little more. Needless to say K understands the concept because if D or I pick up E or play with her a little, K has to tell us "don't touch a happy baby"..."E is happy...don't touch her." K is a chatty little thing....she chats up a storm at home but then we go out in public and she is quiet as a mouse.
Since having E, K feels like she is left out sometimes...so she and I had a girls night on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. I asked her if she wanted to do another girls night again and she said yes but she wanted to do it with her aunt A and cousin D (who is a girl) next time along with her uncle J, cousin C(who is a boy) and dad...so the girl night concept didn't go over so well. But we had fun. We went out to dinner and then went and got some plastic tubs to organize her room.

Greetings
Hello all! I am still getting the hang of blogging....We are busy with Cross country and taking care of our two girls. I have to say that E slept through the night for the first time last night! I am so excited. I actually slept in my bed for 7 hours straight! K is a wild woman....she loves to run and it has been rainy for the last couple of days and she is just going nuts with not being able to run outside or jump on her trampoline. I took her to go play inside at the mall where they have giant breakfast food things to play on. So hopefully some of that energy is going to be released.
We have started to try and potty train K and it has been an interesting journey. She knows that she has gone in her pants but can't seem to get the "tell mom I have to go" before she goes. She so badly wants to wear big girl underwear but after wetting through a few pairs....she decided she wanted the diaper back on. We'll try again soon.
E is growing like a weed. She weighs almost 10 pounds and is trying to smile at everyone. She is such a pleasant little girl although she likes to cat nap during the day instead of give me a good nap. If you hold her she could sleep for an hour and half..the little stinker. K likes to help me out a lot with taking care of E. She likes to tell me when E is crying....as if I couldn't hear her myself. :)

Hello all! this is a new thing for me....I thought that I would start a blog for people to catch up on the H family. I figured it was easier for me to update a blog instead of trying to email everyone.
We are doing well. D has gone back to school. It has been great to have him home for the summer. K especially misses her dad during the day. We have lots of fun together but not nearly as active since having E. E is doing well. She is adjusting to having her sister give her lots of kisses. K just loves her sister and wants to hold her, pick her up, hug her, kiss her, try to play with her, and just sit next to her. She thinks that E is like her baby doll and can't figure out why mom tells her to be gentle and not to pick her up without help. She's learning though and is a HUGE help when I need something and can't get up to get it. I am slowly adjusting to having two kids. I enjoy it.
D has his XC team and they are doing fairly well. They just had a meet on Saturday and placed 2nd! Congrats to his team. K just loves to go and watch "the boys run". We went to one of the practices before school started and it was at a park with a playground there. We didn't play on the play ground...we had to stand by the path where the guys were doing their laps and watch them run. She said, "we stand here and watch the boys run...ok?!" I asked her several times if she wanted to go and play and promptly told me no...she had to watch the boys run. We may have a runner yet.
